DnD Social Skills Group

DnD Social Skills Group

Are you concerned about your child’s social skills?

Do you want them to learn these skills in a fun, true to life way?

Do you want them off a screen, playing with other kids?

Then this D & D group is the place for you!

Studies have proven that roleplaying game players are more empathetic, less socially anxious, better creative thinkers, and even have stronger morals than their non-roleplaying peers.

Build Social Skills Through Adventure, Creativity, and Play

Our Dungeons & Dragons Social Skills Group is a weekly, in-person group designed for middle school students who want to build confidence and connection while having fun. Using the collaborative storytelling game Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), participants practice essential social skills in a structured, supportive, and engaging environment.

This group meets Mondays starting at 3:30 PM and runs for approximately 3 hours each week.

Why Dungeons & Dragons?

Dungeons & Dragons is a powerful tool for social learning. Research has demonstrated that people who play role playing games are :

  • more empathetic!
  • more creative in their thinking!
  • have stronger morals!
  • less socially anxious!

Why pick a social skills group through Polaris FBH?

This group is co-facilitated by:

  • An experienced Dungeon Master (DM) who is skilled at engaging middle schoolers and guiding group dynamics
  • An experienced therapist, who supports social-emotional learning, models skills in real time, and helps translate in-game experiences into real-world growth

Together, they create a balance of fun, structure, and intentional skill-building.

What Skills Will Participants Practice?

Through gameplay and guided reflection, participants work on:

  • Conversational skills
  • Perspective-taking and empathy
  • Cooperative play and teamwork
  • Managing frustration and disappointment
